Caveman Diet

Why The Caveman Diet?

caveman diet.png

Our Ancestors hunted and gathered food prior to agriculture then grew and produced food in their local region. The foods were whole, organic and seasonal.  They ate animal foods full of fat and seasonal fruits and roots and tubers and properly prepared grains, nuts, seeds and beans.  Our ancestors were resistant to diseases, had excellent physical health and an optimistic outlook on life.  (WAPF - Principles of Health Diets)  Foods prior to modernization had higher nutritional value and organ meats were routinely eaten and their diets were typically high in fat and cholesterol. This nutrient rich diet supplies all the building blocks for excellent health.

"Why should I eat like my ancestors when they only lived until they were 30...?"

Well... actually, that is incorrect. The life expectancy was similar to what it is right now, there were just many young and infant deaths which skewed the average age of death. Keep in mind our ancestors were not dying from sicknesses like heart disease and diabetes, but from infections, viruses, natural disasters and other issues that are now much less likely to occur in a modernized world.
